From a Mother to Another…

JoJo Maman Bébé have a new campaign running called From a Mother to Another, helping to support vulnerable families here in the UK and Syrian refugees living in Lebanon. Their aim is to get as many people as possible recycling children’s nearly-new, little worn or outgrown clothes so that they can be passed on to those who are desperate for them. Nearly a third of the UK’s clothing – 350,000 tonnes a year – ends up in landfill, so there’s an extra environmental benefit to this campaign too. I have taken lots of baby clothing up to the recycling bins at the supermarket since I’ve had Angelica, but with this campaign the sorting of the clothing, the shipping tax, import tax and onward distribution to the Syrian refugees is all being covered by JoJo Maman Bébé and I like the fact that it’s going to be directly dealt with and sent out, rather than languishing in a bin for ages.jojo maman bebe syrian refugee campaign

If you have any clothes for children 0-6 years in a good condition that are now unused then please do launder them and take them, in a clear plastic bag, to your nearest JoJo Maman Bébé store. You can drop them in from tomorrow until 5th March. If you take in two or more complete outfits (see here for lists of things that you can and cannot donate due to export regulation) then you will receive a £5 thank you voucher that can be redeemed on spends of £35 or more. Please don’t donate anything soiled or damaged – and if you have warmer items such as snowsuits and padded sleepsuits and so on, I can imagine that these would be particularly useful at this time of year.

You can find more info and locate your nearest store on their website here.
