Aveda’s lip balm is very aptly named, as it is actually saving my lips here in New York! It’s bitterly cold when the wind blows and it leaves your face feeling completely zapped of any moisture, but I have been keeping Aveda’s Lip Saver in my pocket and reapplying when needed. To be quite accurate, I have rarely been reapplying, because this stuff is fabulous! It doesn’t look like anything particularly special, just a little tube of chapstick, but the effects last for ages.

It’s not greasy, sticky, tingly or glossy, just a straightforward lip balm. It tastes pleasant – a bit like grilled banana – and it has an SPF of 15 for those worried about sun exposure. This little balm beauty costs $8.50 here in the US, or £11 (classic price-hike Britain!) in the UK.
