Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear

invisible zinc tinted daywear

I know that it seems bizarre to be writing about sun protection when the country is in the grips of a cruel winter, but I have a very good reason for this: a friend of mine (hello Emily!) is going travelling for four months to nice, hot places and has asked me to recommend a great tinted moisturiser. I have tested out Invisible Zinc’s Tinted Daywear a few times now and I think that it’s the perfect beauty product for a spot of back-packing! So there – some of us are knee-deep in snow, but there are some people who are lucky enough to be catching some serious rays. This one’s for you, sunshine people!

Tinted Daywear is a proper, full-on sunscreen (SPF30) and a tinted moisturiser at the same time. If you want to wear an SPF, and a moisturiser, and enough makeup to just add a bit of colour and ‘pep up’ your skin, then you will love this.  Offering very high protection against both UVA and UVB rays, it’s a dream for anyone who exposes their skin to strong sunlight but still needs, or wants, a bit of light coverage.

I actually prefer that the coverage isn’t too heavy with this product – if you think about when you would be using it, it’s probably going to be pretty hot and sticky, and so a heavy base that requires perfect blending isn’t ideal. The Invisible Zinc coverage is that of a good tinted moisturiser, and it leaves the skin looking nice and fresh. I have been using the lightest shade, which is actually perfect for my skin tone – usually light is just a little too light – but this would be perhaps a little dark if your skin is the palest pale! I’d recommend the lightest shade for fair-medium – it adds a good bit of colour.

The Tinted Daywear left a ‘dewy’ residue on my skin that kept it feeling moisturised all day. Pretty impressive, although you’d perhaps want to take care if you have excessively oily skin. This formula should be OK for sensitive skin as it’s low in irritants and doesn’t contain any nasty chemical absorbers or parabens. Good work Invisible Zinc!

I shall now be saving this little tube for my next trip to somewhere very hot, which will hopefully be very soon, HINT HINT clients! To use it in the winter, in Britain, would be overkill in my opinion – I know that we are exposed to harmful rays even in winter, but I think that this product deserves a hot country and a spot of sunbathing! Roll on holiday time…

Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear is £24.95 from Cult Beauty
