Modelling Blast From The Past #2

by | Aug 12, 2010

I was in Urban Retreat at Harrods on Friday. If you’ve never been there before, then go! It’s so much nicer than shopping in the ground floor beauty department – it’s all very plush and sexy, with flattering lighting and luxury brands. If you’re there for a treatment (as I was – but more of that in an upcoming post!) then you have a ‘check in’ area that feels like a cross between a first class airport lounge and a boutique hotel. It was in the waiting area that I found my own face staring up at me from one of the tables.

This beautique cover was shot about three or four years ago if my memory serves me correctly. It could quite possibly be even further back than that! I remember the shoot well, because I had to sit with my eyes closed and not move even a millimetre whilst Daniel Sandler painted union jacks on my eyelids! He was very impressed that I could sit still for so long – I think it may have been three hours! – and kept checking to see whether or not I was still alive.

There you go then – another requirement for being a good model, especially for beauty work; the ability to make yourself absolutely comatose!
