1) Happy Easter! I hope that you’re all having a wonderful long weekend? If you are in London and looking for something to occupy an hour or two, then do pop down to the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition at the Barbican. I went last week and it was great – very colourful and bizarre, as is only to be expected from Monsieur JPG. I loved the mannequins – they had moving faces! I hadn’t ever thought, before, about just how influential Gaultier is; when you take a proper look at his work, you can see how his ideas have inspired so many trends. I particularly enjoyed looking at the Madonna section of the show – that pointy bra! Oh, how I wanted a pointy bra when I was in my teens…

I was actually at the Barbican for a fragrance talk; the perfumer Francis Kurkdijan was on stage discussing the iconic scents he has created for Gaultier over the years. It was very interesting – Francis created Gaultier’s signature male fragrance, Le Male, at the age of 26! Imagine that. The whole of the fragrance symposium was filmed – you can see that video on Youtube here, if you have a spare forty-five minutes.

2) The winner of the Cult Beauty Top Ten Products giveaway was due to be announced today, but I’m afraid I’ve messed up a bit. I completely forgot that Friday was a Bank Holiday and I didn’t get the name of the winner from Cult Beauty! So I shall make that a priority on Tuesday when everyone is back at work. Sorry…

3) Still on the subject of Cult Beauty; they have a mid-season sale on. If you’re fond of the Institut Esthederm suntan lotion, then you’ll be pleased to know that there’s some for half price, and there’s a pretty good discount on the Prevage range too. The sale is here. They also have some discounted Sunday Riley “duos” with 25% off the price that the products would be if you bought them separately. Sunday Riley

4) The dog (above) and the cat (below). The dog seems to be turning into some kind of living rug. His hair is just getting shaggier and shaggier by the day! It’s a good job that Cockapoo dogs don’t moult because there’d be a hell of a lot of fur to clear up, wouldn’t there? Mr Bear, on the other hand, likes to shed on an almost perpetual basis. You only have to blow on him and the air becomes filled with fur, even though I brush and hoover him (yes) nearly every day. He’s a total fur factory. He’s practising his tongue-rolling in the picture below… Majestic beast.
