Three Ways to Wear Red Lipstick

by | Dec 13, 2011

Three Ways to Wear Red Lipstick I’m not a habitual red lipstick-wearer, my personal preference being a slick of tinted balm or a nude-ish lip shade, but ’tis the festive season (ugh) and I thought I’d do some jazzing up of my makeup routine. Surprisingly, I am now more than a little bit partial to some red lippie – I am currently ‘testing the waters’ by wearing it strictly behind closed doors, but once I have finished frightening the life out of Mr AMR and Ted the Kitten I shall unleash my new look upon the rest of the world!

Three variations are shown in the video below – I hope you like them. I want to say that version three is my favourite, but I’d only be saying that because I love the eye look so much (YSL’s gel liner in Bronze-Black is this month’s must-have and I think it’s on sale at Debenhams at the mo: http://tidd.ly/8621cadd). On ‘lip’ merits alone, I’d have to say that the middle makeup look is my favourite – bold, sexy, glossy, glam. The screen grab is shown at the top of the page.

(Please be warned when attempting any red lip look: you may not eat, drink, talk or move for the entire day once you have applied. If you do any of the aforementioned activities, you will have red smears all over your face, hands, clothes and teeth. To minimise these dangers, you can blot between applications or choose one of those super-duper long-lasting formulas that are out there, but I sometimes find all this a bit drying. Oooh! Just remembered, and can’t believe I didn’t put it in this video – the Pixi Lip Blush in LOVE! That would be a good option…)
