In Sunday’s post I asked you which you preferred; beauty photos with an Instagram filter or without. I had slipped into the habit of posting up photos straight from Instagram because a) it saved time and b) they looked more finished, but I was becoming aware that there was a distinct loss of quality in the filtered photographs and it changed the skin and makeup tones, sometimes dramatically.

You voted (almost unanimously) for beauty photographs without the filters. So that’s what you’ll get from now on – pics straight from the camera rather than ones that have been through the Instagram process. If you can’t be bothered to read Sunday’s post and the accompanying comments (see here if you can!) then the picture above is shows the difference between the two picture types; left side no filter, right side with filter. Side by side you can really see a difference! The lipstick looks almost fluorescent with the filter on..

I’m planning some nice changes for the site, so expect to see them creeping on in soon. I want to make it easier to navigate and more interesting to look at – I may be calling on your opinions again in the near future!
